Privacy & Consent

Effective August 2026 · House of Gab, South Florida

1. Who We Are

House of Gab (“we,” “us”) operates a digital fashion editorial magazine and society platform serving South Florida. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By submitting any form — RSVP, newsletter, waitlist, or membership — you agree to the practices described here.

2. The PEOPLE Database

At the center of our platform is a master PEOPLE database. When you interact with us — RSVP to an event, subscribe to a newsletter, join a waitlist, or express membership interest — we resolve your identity into a single People record so we never duplicate you across lists. Your record links the email addresses, event history, and communication preferences associated with you.

3. Information We Collect

  • Identity & contact: name, email address(es), mobile number, city, ZIP, company and title, and social handles you provide.
  • Engagement: event RSVPs, attendance, referrals, newsletter subscriptions, and waitlist entries.
  • Consent & preferences: marketing consent status, the source and date of consent, and unsubscribe requests.
  • Technical: a one-way hash of your IP address for rate-limiting and bot protection, and the version of this notice you consented to.

4. Email Verification

To protect against fake and fraudulent submissions, every new email address is sent a single-use verification link valid for 24 hours. Your RSVP, subscription, waitlist spot, or membership interest remains pending until you confirm. We never publish unverified contacts or count them as confirmed.

5. Sensitive Data Segregation

Information that is personal or operationally sensitive — date of birth, internal relationship notes, do-not-invite status, and High Société candidacy — is stored in a separate, admin-locked record that is never exposed to the public site or to other members. Only authorized House of Gab administrators can access it, and every view or change is recorded in an immutable audit log.

6. Marketing & Communication

With your consent, we may send editorial newsletters and event invitations to the email address you provided. You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message or by contacting us; we will honor the request and record the date. We do not sell or rent your information.

7. Bot Protection & Rate Limiting

Public forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile bot detection and server-side rate limiting keyed to a hashed IP and normalized email. This keeps the platform reliable and resists automated abuse without storing your raw IP address.

8. Data Retention

We retain People records for the life of our relationship and thereafter only as needed to honor legal obligations, audit requirements, and your stated preferences. Verification tokens expire after 24 hours. You may request deletion of your record at any time (see Your Rights).

9. Third Parties

We use trusted processors for email delivery and infrastructure. Each is bound by data-protection terms and accesses only what is necessary to deliver the service. We do not share your information with advertisers or third parties for their own marketing.

10. Your Rights

  • Access & portability: request a copy of your People record.
  • Correction: ask us to fix inaccurate information.
  • Deletion: request removal of your record and associated data.
  • Withdraw consent: unsubscribe from marketing at any time.
  • Object: ask us to limit certain processing.

To exercise any right, contact House of Gab. We respond within 30 days.

11. Children's Privacy

Our platform is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. Events are 21+ unless stated otherwise.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our practices evolve. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Contact

Questions about your data or this policy can be sent to House of Gab. For urgent privacy requests, reach out and we will route your request promptly.

By accessing or using the House of Gab digital magazine, events platform, and related services (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Editorial Content

All editorial content — articles, reels, photographs, the Hot List, and gallery imagery — is published by House of Gab for informational and entertainment purposes. We strive for accuracy but make no warranty as to completeness. Event details, listings, and rankings may change without notice.

3. User Submissions

When you RSVP, subscribe, nominate a Hot List candidate, or submit content, you grant House of Gab a non-exclusive license to display, reproduce, and edit that submission in connection with the Service. You confirm that any image or text you submit is yours to submit and does not infringe another party's rights.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service — including submitting false information, automating forms to distort the Hot List vote, harassing members, or attempting to access another user's data. Violations may result in removal of submissions and loss of access without notice.

5. Events, Tickets & RSVPs

Event listings, RSVP availability, and ticket terms are subject to change. Paid tickets are governed by the ticket terms presented at checkout; refunds, when offered, follow the policy stated on the ticket or event page. Invite-only and capacity-limited events may close without notice.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service may link to third-party sites, brands, and ticket providers. House of Gab is not responsible for their content, availability, or business practices.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, House of Gab is not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the Service or attendance at any listed event. Our liability is limited to the amount, if any, you paid us directly.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a revised effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law
